Gov’t to Complete Pasar Jumat Apartment

The Government through Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing carried on the construction of housing that is included in the National Strategic Projects.

After completing the construction of Pasar Rumput Apartment block for Low Income People (MBR), the Ministry is currently constructing Pasar Jumat High-Rise Apartment for State Civil Apparatus (ASN) which the progress has reached 88.12 percent.

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono asserted that these apartments are also built for students, santri (students of an Islamic boarding school), and workers including the ASN and personnel of the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) and Indonesian National Police (Polri).

The provision of livable housing, for example apartments, is expected to increase people’s productivity at work, and can prepare them for the new normal.

Pasar Jumat apartment block was built on 5,300 square meters of land which is located in housing complex of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and near Lebak Bulus MRT Station. Since the apartment is located near public transportation, it will improve efficiency of the urban people particularly the ASN.

The Minister expressed hope more integrated oriented housing will be developed in various metropolitans in Indonesia that is expected to improve the quality of housing.

The apartment that has a total floor area of 2,800 square meters consisted of 18 floors, in which 16 floors for residential areas, while 2 floors are for children playground and public facilities. Each apartment unit has 2 bedrooms, living room, one bathroom, balcony for drying clothes, and is equipped with 2,200 KWh electricity.

The construction of Pasar Jumat Apartment applies precast lightweight concrete system for floor and wall. Hollow Core Slab (HCS) method is applied in precast flooring, while Lightweight Cement Wall (LCW) is applied in precast walling.

For the record, the LCW is a time-saving innovation of lightweight concrete which is soundproof and fireproof. Meanwhile the HCS is a breakthrough in the construction of floor in multi-story apartment building which uses pre-stressed concrete.

Previously, the Ministry had completed the construction of Pasar Rumput low-cost apartment block which consisted of 25 floors and 3 towers. This apartment block adopts mixed-use development that blends residential and commercial activities in one place. Market is located at the lower level of the apartment, while the residential area is built above it.

Pasar Rumput low-cost apartment block which was constructed in 2016 has 1,984 units and 1,314 shops. The apartment is located near Manggarai Bus Terminal to integrate the housing and public transportation. (Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing/EN)
