In 2021, the Government has paid claims of Rp62.68 trillion for COVID-19 patients care to hospitals, while there is still Rp25.10 trillion claim values that will be paid by the Government, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin has said.

“Some of those remaining claim values are being processed to obtain approval from Ministry of Finance,” said the Minister in his statement during press conference after attending the Limited Meeting on Evaluation on Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM), Monday (02/21).

According to Budi, around Rp10 trillion of incentives from January until November 2021 has also been paid for health workers, adding that the Government will continue to pay December’s incentives this year.

Earlier, Ministry of Health’s Director of Referral Health Service Siti Khalimah has reminded all hospitals to complete all required documents to claim for COVID-19 patients care. If there is a problem in claiming the payment, she added, the hospital must immediately complete the required documents so that Ministry of Health can process it immediately.

For the record, in 2021, the Government has recorded that there is Rp90.2 trillion of claim values for 1.7 million COVID-19 cases. As many as Rp62.68 trillion has been paid by the Government to the hospitals and there is still Rp25.10 trillion of claim values that is being processed to be paid. However, Rp2.42 trillion of claim values including expired claims of Rp680 billion and disputed claims of Rp1.74 trillion cannot be processed and paid.

Furthermore, Siti asked hospitals that plan to propose claims of December 2021 to complete the requirements before February 28, 2022. All claim proposals both from private hospitals and government hospitals will be processed based on data sent by the Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) to Ministry of Health.
