The Government is preparing to disband as many as eighteen state organizations/institutions, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“Smaller organization means less cost and budget,” President Jokowi said to reporters at the Merdeka Palace, DKI Jakarta Province, Monday (7/13).

The President explained that the disbanded organizations’ work will then be carried out by the relevant ministries or directorates general.

He likened bureaucracy to a ship in which will sail faster if the load is light. “I repeatedly said that fast country will defeat slow country, not big country that will defeat small country,” he said. (UN/EN)
