President Joko ‘Jokowi” Widodo said that complaints regarding the difficulty to formulate a spending report (SPJ) of Village Funds will be forwarded to Minister of Finance.

“We will evaluate it. This is what I want to discuss with Minister of Finance,” the President told reporters after delivering a briefing at the 2018 Village Governance Capacity Building and Village Community Institution, at Graha Pradipta Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Yogyakarta, Wednesday (25/7).

The President also expressed his hope that the report can be simpler and easy to check.

In the meantime, commenting on sub-district funds requested by several mayors, the President has listened to the proposal from them, but it is still in the process of formulation. He admitted that village funds must still be calculated as well.

For the record, several mayors during a meeting with the President at Bogor Presidential Palace on Wednesday (25/7) conveyed their wish to receive funds, just like village funds.

Regarding pay rise for mayors, the President admitted the matter has not been discussed yet it since it will take into account many aspects. “Should the mayor’s salary rises, then regent’s salary must rise. The same thing will apply to governor’s and minister’s,” the President said, adding that since it is not an easy thing to do, everything needs to be calculated.

“Everything must be calculated and adjusted to our fiscal capacity. If our fiscal capacity is loose, then why not,” the President added. (DNA/EN) (MUR/EP/YM/Naster).
