Gov’t to Expand COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage for Students

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo affirmed that the Government will continue to expand the coverage of vaccination for students before conducting face-to-face learning at schools.

The move is prioritized to be implemented in regions with high number of COVID-19 transmission case.

“I ordered that the vaccination for students and Islamic boarding school students to be conducted massively, particularly in regions that has high number of COVID-19 transmission case,” the President said during an inspection of COVID-19 vaccination in State Senior High School SMAN 1 Beber, Cirebon Regency, West Java, Tuesday (31/8).

During the inspection, he also talked with the students about the plan to immediately reopen schools which was responded positively by the students.

Also on that occasion, the Head of State reminded all students to always maintain discipline in adhering to health protocols when the school is reopened.

He also told them to participate in and support the national vaccination program runs by the Government.

“Keep your mask on and immediately go to the center for vaccination to get your shot,” he said. (FID/UN) (RAS/LW)
