The Government has announced plan to extend the implementation of the micro-scale public activity restrictions (PPKM Mikro) in all provinces in the country.

Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling and National Economic Recovery Working Committee (KPCPEN) Airlangga Hartarto said that the PPKM Mikro Phase X will take effect from 15 to 28 June 2021 and be implemented based on risk zoning in each region.

“Offices in red zone areas must implement work from home policy for 75 percent of the total employees. However, the remaining 25 percent of employees must take turn and ensure that they stay still at their respective work places,” Airlangga said in Jakarta, Monday (14/6).

Meanwhile, for offices in orange and yellow zones, Airlangga added, the proportion of work from office and work from home is 50%.

“For teaching and learning activities, it follows policy from Ministry of Education. However, for red zone areas, the activities shall be carried out online for two weeks,” he said.

Meanwhile, for restaurant and mall activities, the provisions are similar to the previous policy, which is open until 9 p.m. with a capacity of 50 percent and by applying strict health protocols.

“Places of worship in red zone areas will be closed for two weeks and public are advised to worship from home,” said Airlangga.

Airlangga went on to say that the implementation of PPKM Micro Phase X will be regulated through an Instruction of Minister of Home Affairs.

“Ministry of Home Affairs will issue an official instruction regarding the red zone areas, including Kudus regency and Bangkalan regency. Each region is urged to make decisions in their respective districts / cities,” he said.

Furthermore, Airlangga continued, the Government will deploy more officers in the red zone areas such as Kudus and Bangkalan.

“The Government has assigned the Regional Military Base and the Regional Head of Police to enforce the implementation of PPKM Mikro,” he said. (RF/UN) (EST/EP)
