Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi delivers a press statement in Malang regency on Tuesday (01/13).

The Government is set to expedite the development of Indonesia’s new capital of Nusantara, Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi has announced.

“The President has, from the outset, emphasized the need to accelerate the development of facilities for the legislative and judicial institutions. We expect this work to be completed by 2028,” the Minister said during his working visit to Malang regency, East Java province, Tuesday (01/13).

Earlier that day, President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) in Nusantara Capital, East Kalimantan province, during which he received a report on the new capital development and instructed officials to enhance and accelerate construction.

“The President provided feedback on both the design and functionality. He also ordered the OIKN and Ministry of Public Works to continue making improvements,” Prasetyo said, adding that the acceleration was necessary to complete facilities for the three branches of government.

Following his visit to the new capital, the President traveled to Malang regency, East Java province, to inaugurate the Malang campus of Taruna Nusantara High School.

According to Prasetyo, the Government has continued to expand educational facilities, including People’s Schools for communities living under poverty and extreme poverty, and Garuda Schools for talented students.

“Once again, we are working hard to improve our education facilities. We are building People’s Schools for [children from] decile 1 and decile 2 [households]. We are also developing top schools because we truly want to prepare our human resources to jumpstart the 2045 Golden Indonesia,” he remarked. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (DH/EP)
