Gov’t to Immediately Inject FMD Vaccines to Livestock

The Government will immediately tackle foot and mouth disease that attack dozens of livestock by providing 800,000 doses of vaccines throughout Indonesia, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“Inject the vaccine as soon as possible to protect healthy livestock,” President Jokowi said when attending Gathering with Alumni of Pre-Employment Card recipients at Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor regency, Friday (06/17).

He further said that the disease is transmitted very quickly, thus the Government has imposed lockdown in several regions but the result is still not significant.

“The Government has imposed lockdown but the virus spread rapidly and now it has spread to eighteen provinces, 190 regencies and cities,” he said. (BPMI/MAY/AIT) (EST/LW)
