President Prabowo Subianto Monday (12/01) inspected Pante Dona bridge in Southeast Aceh regency, which was completely severed after major flooding struck the region.

Upon arrival, President Prabowo immediately went to the damaged section to assess the situation up close. The bridge, one of the main access routes connecting several districts in Southeast Aceh, now remains only as a steel frame. Four steel bridges in the area suffered major damage, but Pante Dona bridge was the worst affected.

At the location, the President discussed with government officials to accelerate the construction of temporary access routes to restore mobility. The Head of State also emphasized that rebuilding a permanent bridge would be a top priority to revive local transportation and economic activity.

After the inspection, President Prabowo took time to greet and shake hands with residents who had gathered nearby.

One resident expressed appreciation on behalf of the people of Southeast Aceh. “President Prabowo, thank you for coming to Bumi Sepakat Segenep,” he said while shaking the President’s hand.

The President’s direct presence among affected communities reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to act swiftly and decisively in responding to the disaster’s impact. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (GWH/LW)
