The investment in Nusantara Capital City (IKN) should be maintained in an integrated manner, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has stated.

“Regarding the investment, [the President] ordered us to provide one stop shop by involving other Ministries/Agencies,” Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono said after attending a meeting chaired by President Jokowi at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (05/15).

Bambang said that the IKN Authority and Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) will be part of the system, as well as other Ministries/Agencies, including Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing.

He went on to say that the Government will also establish a special task force to resolve land issues in the IKN.

Bambang further said that there were 209 letters of interest from investors of the IKN, and 36 investors have signed a non-disclosure agreement.

According to Bambang, President Jokowi has ordered relevant stakeholders to speed up the process so that the investment could be realized in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations.

“We are going to involve other institutions to ensure that the process of accelerating investment in IKN run smoothly and more efficiently,” he said.

Bambang further said that the IKN Authority will disclose projects that will be carried out in the IKN, including international hospital and educational facilities. (MAY/UN) (RI/LW)
