The Government continues to prepare various steps to accelerate the distribution of Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) this year and ensure that the assistance can be distributed in a prompt, accurate, and accountable manner.

“Ministry of Manpower continues to prepare and finalize all technical matters for the BSU distribution process. We continue to strive so that the BSU can be distributed in September 2022,” said Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah, as quoted from the official website of the Ministry, Wednesday (08/31).

Ida explained that measures for the distribution of the BSU, among others, are the completion of financial and budget administration for the allocation of the BSU funds; finalization of regulations in the form of the Minister of Manpower regulations regarding the distribution of the BSU; and coordination with ministries/agencies related to data matching.

Coordination was carried out with the State Civil Service Agency (BKN), the Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI), and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to ensure that the BSU was not channeled to the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), members of the TNI, and members of the Police.

In addition, the Ministry also coordinates with the Social Security Agency for Manpower (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan) regarding data on the BSU recipients and with state-owned banks and PT Pos Indonesia regarding the technical distribution of the BSU.

“Ministry of Manpower will accelerate this process to ensure the accuracy and accountability of the BSU distribution,” she said.

For the record, the BSU 2022 is one of the social assistances provided by the Government. As instructed by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, the BSU will be distributed to 16 million workers who have a maximum wage of Rp3.5 million per month, each of whom will receive Rp600,000. The total budget for BSU this year is Rp9.6 trillion.

“This policy is expected to maintain purchasing power of the people who are affected by the global commodity price spike,” she remarked. (Public Relations of Ministry of Manpower/UN) (EST/MUR)
