The Government ensures that the distribution of social assistances in the second quarter of 2025 will be fully based on the single national socio-economic data (DTSEN), as instructed by President Prabowo Subianto through Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025. This was emphasized by the Head of the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti after a limited meeting with President Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (6/2).
“The distribution of the second-quarter social assistance is based on the single national socio-economic data in accordance with Mr. President’s directive, namely Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025,” she said.
Amalia said the single data has been integrated since February 3, 2025 and been updated through validation of various data, including field verification through cooperation between BPS and the Ministry of Social Affairs. She said a total of 16.5 million out of 20.3 million beneficiary families has been verified by the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP).
“A total of 16.5 million out of 20.3 million beneficiary families has been verified by BPKP. And of the 16.5 million, around 14.3 million (beneficiary families) are indeed in deciles 1-4 and [the assistances] have begun to be distributed by the Minister of Social Affairs as of May 31,” said the BPS Head.
Furthermore, Amalia emphasized that BPS has also cleaned up data for inclusion errors. Using more accurate data, Amalia added, the social assistance program is expected to be more on target and serves as a national economic stimulus in the second quarter.
“By using this single national socio-economic data to distribute the social assistance in the second quarter, this can also be one of the economic stimulus programs so it is more on target,” she said.
In addition, Amalia said that the plan to provide incentives, such as discounts for transportation and toll road is in line with an increase in people’s mobility this year. She said that based on BPS data the number of domestic tourists in April 2025 increased by 23 percent, compared to the same month of the previous year.
“This means that incentives for ticket, transportation, and toll road discounts will effectively boost people’s mobility. Moreover, the BPS data shows an increase in people’s mobility at 3 points or reaching its peak in a year; first during Eid, second during school holiday in June and July, and third at year-end.
