The Halal Certification Agency (BPJPH) of Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued 10,164 halal certificates for micro and small businesses participating in the free halal certification program.

“As of today, thank God, we have issued 10,164 halal certificates,” Head of the BPJPH Muhammad Aqil Irham said in Jakarta, Wednesday (09/14).

“The certificates issued are part of the 25,000 free halal certificates issued through self-declaring mechanism,” he added.

Head of the BPJPH also urged Halal Certification Facilitator Agency (LPPPH) to support halal product facilitators in assisting business entities for halal certification.

In the meantime, Head of the Center for Halal Registration and Certification Mastuki said that the Center continues to process documents submitted for free halal certification.

“In addition to the 10,164 certificates issued, we are currently processing around 11,500 other documents. As many as 3,827 documents are in the fatwa deliberation process, 5,113 documents have been sent to the fatwa commission, 1,543 documents are in the verification process by the BPJPH, and 1,017 documents are in the verification process by the LPPPH,” Mastuki said.

“We carry out multiple verification processes. We hope that the documents submitted for fatwa deliberation will not contain any error and 100 percent of them will be eligible for the certification,” he remarked. (PR of Ministry of Religious Affairs/AIT) (RI/MMB)
