Hanif Dhakiri Appointed as Acting Minister of Youth and Sports

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has signed aPresidential Decree to appoint Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri as Acting Minister of Youth and Sports.

As previously reported, Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi has previously resigned from his position due to his alleged involvement in a corruption case.

“Hanif serves as Minister of Manpower as well as Minister of Youth and Sports this month,” said Minister of State Secretary Pratikno at Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Friday (20/9).

Pratikno explained that the appointment was taken because of the limited candidate. Moreover, on 1 October, he added, there will be several ministers who will also leave their positions as they will be appointed as members of the House of Representatives (DPR).

“By the time, President Jokowi will also appoint Acting Ministers to replace them,” Pratikno added. (UN / OJI / ES)
