Minister of Health has announced it continues to speed up national COVID-19 vaccination drive, including by allowing the people to get their jab at all healthcare facilities and hospitals regardless their domiciles.

The Ministry also said that vaccination services will also be improved to meet the Government’s target to inject one million doses of vaccines per day.

The provisions above are regulated in Circular of Minister of Health Number HK.02.02/I/1669 of 2021 on the acceleration of COVID-19 vaccination through the improvement of vaccination service posts and the Ministry’s technical management unit (UPT).

The Government has previously ensured the availability of vaccines supply, as well as its quality, efficacy, and safety in order to meet the target of injecting one million doses of vaccines per day.

The Government has also urged related parties to work in synergy to speed up national vaccination drive in a bid to immediately achieve herd immunity.

“The Ministry’s vaccination posts, UPT, including the port health authorities (KKP), hospitals, and health polytechnics can provide service for those eligible for vaccination regardless their domiciles stated in ID card,” the Circular issued on 24 June 2021 reads.

COVID-19 vaccines allocated and distributed by Ministry of Health in each term can be used for the first or the second jab.

The public will receive two doses of Sinovac vaccine within a 28-day interval or AstraZeneca vaccine within a 8-12 week interval. Considering the interval, there is no need to store two doses of vaccine at the same time. (MINISTRY OF HEALTH/UN) (RAS/EP)
