Ministry of Home Affairs has affirmed that COVID-19 vaccination certificate is not required to receive citizenship administrative services.

“Because to get the COVID-19 vaccination, the people must also have a single identity number,” said Director General of Population and Civil Registration of the Ministry Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, as quoted from the Ministry’s official website, Thursday (29/7).

The Ministry also supports efforts to accelerate the national vaccination which targets 80 percent of the population in order to achieve herd immunity.

“We want to participate in the Government’s efforts to accelerate the vaccination program by providing fast and easy citizenship administrative services. Moreover, the public’s interest in getting the jabs is high,” Zudan said.

However, Zudan said, it is possible that in the future, vaccination certificates will be a requirement for administrative services.

“This regulation can be applied, but later when the percentage of vaccination is at 80 percent, it will be our effort to catch up with the rest of the population who don’t want to get vaccinated. We will see the development,” he remarked. (PR of Ministry of Home Affairs/UN) (FI/LW)
