Home Ministry Holds Gate Festival Competition
Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of State Secretariat and the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) host Cinta Negeri Gate Festival to enliven the 74th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
“The festival is held to celebrate the 74th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia and to create a movement that spread value of love for the country,” General Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Hadi Prabowo stated.
Minister of Home Affairs, Hadi added, has issued a Radiogram Number 080/5739/SJ for Governors and Regents/Mayors on the organization of the festival.
Competing participants must meet the following requirements: a. send 10 photos consisting of 4 photos of festivity of the gate making process and 6 photos of the gate from various angles; b. the size of the photos cannot exceed 1MB/photo; c. the photos should be sent via the www.gapuracintanegeri.com from 15 July 2019 to 7 August 2019.
Afterward, the festival committee will receive, curate, and select all the works. The result of the curation will be assessed by judges.
The Radiogram stated that there would be voting process for a favorite gate. To promote the gate the participants can post photos and videos of the excitement of the gate building process on Instagram using #gapuracintanegeri and mention it to the @gapuracintanegeri account.
The schedule of the competition is as follows: a. Gate Festival (8 July – 31 July 2019); b. Sending of the Gate Photos (1 – 7 August 2019); c. Judging to choose 50 Gates that qualify for the next stage (8 – 9 August 2019); d. Choosing 10 winners (10 August 2019); e. Announcing 10 winners and starting voting for Favorite Gate (12 August 2019); and f. Inviting 10 winners to Jakarta with 2 representatives for each winner (16 August 2019).
The Radiogram also stated that the 1st place winner of Best Gate and 1st place for Favorite Gate will be announced on 17 August 2019.
The committee stated that the winners will be invited to the Merdeka Palace to receive the awards that will be personally handed over by the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
