Implementing Constitutional Mandates Is Key to Prosperous, Just Indonesia, President Prabowo Says

President Prabowo Subianto stated that the key to materialize a prosperous and just Indonesia is by ensuring that the national economy carried out in line with the provisions in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which was set by Indonesia’s founding fathers as the blueprint to implement the national economy.

“Today, I would like to affirm my belief that as long as we consistently implement provisions in Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, our country will have sufficient resources to ensure that Indonesia truly becomes a prosperous and just nation, where its people can have a prosper and a decent quality of life,” he said in a speech at the presentation of the Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF) for the 2027 State Budget Draft (RAPBN), at the Plenary Meeting Room in the Nusantara Building at the House of Representatives (DPR) building, on Tuesday (05/20).

In his speech, the President called on state apparatus to face challenges in governing the country with courage and a spirit of improving conditions for the future of the Indonesian people.

“Today, I think I need to tell the executive and legislative institutions, in the presence of the leaders of the nation’s highest institutions, to have the courage to face problems, including challenges, obstacles, or shortcomings,” he said.

He went on to say that all Indonesian people are longing a decent and sufficient standard of living, where they can meet basic needs such as food, healthcare, and education for their families.

Thus, implementing mandates of the 1945 Constitution is a shared responsibility of all elements of the nation. The President also emphasized that Indonesia’s natural resources must be utilized to the greatest extent possible for the prosperity of the Indonesian people.

“That was the vision of our nation’s founders, and only that can drive us forward to achieve all of our shared aspirations,” he stated.

On that occasion, President Prabowo expressed hope that Indonesia can bring peace, just, and prosperity to its people. He also stressed on the importance of fair law enforcement particularly for the vulnerable groups and grassroots.

“We want to witness all citizens live in harmony, peace, have adequate food, proper home and clothes. An Indonesia that is blessed with abundant prosperity, peace, harmony, and well-being. A nation where the law applies equally to everyone and ensures justice for the most vulnerable.
