Indian PM Warmly Welcomed by Students and Nusantara Cultural Performance

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tuesday (7/7) was warmly welcomed by students and Nusantara cultural performance in a series of his work visit at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The warmth of the people and the state ceremony reflect the friendliness and richness of Indonesian culture in welcoming the leader of a friendly country.

On the way to the Merdeka Palace, PM Modi was greeted enthusiastically by thousands of students along the road. Those with a cheerful face full of enthusiasm waved small Indonesian and Indian flags as PM Modi’s vehicle passed by.

Upon his arrival at the Merdeka Palace, many students cried enthusiastically to welcome him. Simultaneously, they were heard saying welcome to the leader of the friendly country.

“Welcome to Indonesia, Indonesia mein aapka swagat hai,” said the students enthusiastically.

Guntur, a primary school student of SDN Guntur 03, said that he was impressed by seeing PM Modi’s welcoming procession at the Merdeka Palace firsthand. He described it as a proud experience.

“I was most impressed by the troops who marched so neatly, and it really impressed me. The most exciting part was welcoming the President of India and President Prabowo,” he said.

Meanwhile, Qori, a student of SDN Pasar Manggis 01, said that she has never dreamed of seeing the Head of State firsthand. She hopes that the state visit can strengthen the relations between Indonesia and India.

“May the two countries stay closer, strengthen solidarity, and help each other,” she said.

Similar expression delivered by Jasmine, a student of SDN Guntur 03. She hopes that the meeting between the two country’s leader can bring benefit to both Indonesia and India.

“So, the two countries can progress, better than today,” she said.

Besides the student’s welcome, PM Modi was also served with a performance of the Betawi creative dance “Kemilau Jakarta.” The dance was part of the welcoming ceremony, which introduced the diverse culture of Nusantara to the leader of a friendly nation.
