President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Jae-myung Wednesday (4/1) hosted a state luncheon in honor of President Prabowo Subianto and his delegation at the Presidential Palace of the ROK, Cheong Wa Dae (Blue House), in Seoul.

The event took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, underscoring the close and longstanding partnership between the two nations.

In his remarks, President Prabowo Subianto expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and highlighted the significance of the outcomes from previous bilateral meetings.

The President also noted that the discussions between the two leaders had produced productive and strategic outcomes that further strengthened relations between Indonesia and the ROK.

“It is a great honor for me to be here following the productive and meaningful discussions we held earlier today. The elevation of our bilateral relations to a Special Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, along with the signing of several key agreements, reflects the deep trust and shared vision that unite our two nations,” the President said.

The President expressed confidence that the strengthened partnership and the agreements reached would bring tangible and lasting benefits to both nations. He also underscored shared historical experiences of Indonesia and the ROK, noting that both countries fought hard to achieve independence and to build their nations.

“We share many similarities in history and common interests. Both our nations fought tirelessly for independence, and the ROK has achieved remarkable success in becoming a highly advanced industrial nation,” said the President.

On the same occasion, President Prabowo Subianto also expressed his admiration for South Korea’s achievements, particularly in industry and its people’s work ethic.

The President also quoted the Korean proverb, 함께 가면 멀리 간다” [hamkke gamyeon meolli ganda] which means “If we go together, we go far,” reflecting the spirit of solidarity and cooperation between the two countries.

“We admire your achievements, as well as your discipline, hard work, and determination to overcome challenges. There’s a well-known Korean proverb that says: 함께 가면 멀리 간다. If we go together, we will go far,” he said.

This state luncheon serves not only a symbol of diplomatic honor but also as a reaffirmation of the two countries’ commitment to building a mutually beneficial and future-oriented strategic partnership. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat) (JAS/EP)
