Indonesia and the US Seal 11 Strategic Cooperation Agreements

President Prabowo witnesses the signage of 11 MoU between Indonesia and USA in US Chamber of Commerce, Washington DC, on Wednesday (02/18)
President Prabowo Subianto Wednesday (02/18) witnessed the signing of 11 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) valued at USD 38.4 billion between Indonesia and USA business leaders at the Roundtable Business Summit.
The event was held by the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) at US Chamber of Commerce, Washington DC, USA.
These signings showed a concrete collaboration between the government and private sectors of the two countries in various sectors—mining and downstream, energy, agribusiness, textiles and garments, as well as furniture manufacturing and technology development. The signings include:
- Memorandum of Agreement on Critical Mineral, signed by Minister of Investment/CEO of Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, President & CEO of Freeport-McMoRan Kathleen Quirk, and President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia Tony Wenas;
- MoU on Oilfield Recovery between Pertamina dan Haliburton, signed by CEO of Pertamina Simon Mantiri, and President Director of Haliburton Ankush Balla;
- MoU on Agriculture (corn) between PT. Cargill Indonesia, PT Arena Agro Andalan and Cargill Inc, signed by Managing Director Amcham representing Fanny Hosea, PT Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo (Cargill Indonesia) Donna Priadi, and Director International Government Relations (China & APAC) at Cargill Elizabeth Struse;
- MoU on Cotton between Busana Apparel Group and U.S. National Cotton Council, signed by Chief Marketing Officer Busana Apparell Manish Virmani and Senior Government Relations Director for National Cotton Council Jeff Kuckkuck;
- MoU on Cotton between Daehan Global and U.S. National Cotton Council, signed by CEO of Daehan Global Boo Hyung Lee and Senior Government Relations Director for National Cotton Council Jeff Kuckkuck;
- MoU on Shredded Worn Clothing between Garment & Textile Indonesia Association, and PT Pan Brothers & Ravel, signed by CEO of PT PAN Brothers Ludijanto Setijo and CEO Ravel Zahlen Titcomb;
- MoU on Furniture between ASMINDO (Indonesian Furniture Industry & Handicraft Association) and Bingaman and Son Lumber, Inc, signed by CEO Vivere Group (ASMINDO) Dedy Rochimat and Director of Exports Jeremy Roupp;
- MoU on Semiconductor between Galang Bumi Industri and Essence, signed by President Director Ahmad Maaruf Maulana and President Director Chester Coleman;
- MoU on Semiconductor between Galang Bumi Industri (GBI) and Tynergy Technology Group, signed by Director GBI Kadafi Yahya Muhamad and President Director Yan Purba;
- Transnational Free Trade Zone Friendship between Galang Bumi Industri and Solanna Group LLC, signed by Director Tjaw Hioeng and President of Solana Gorup David Fordon;
- MoU on Furniture/Wood Product between Himpunan Industri Mebel dan Kerajinan (HIMKI) and American Hardwood Export Council, signed by Head of Promotion and Marketing for Americas Rudy Hartono and American Hardwood Export Council Michael Snow.
This momentum reflects the international businesses’ high trust in Indonesia’s economic future. These agreements also strengthen Indonesia’s position as a strategic partner in the Indo-Pacific region.
