Indonesia, Belarus Strengthen Strategic Partnership Through Seven Priority Agreements
President Prabowo Subianto and President of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko witnessed the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (07/02). The two countries also launched the roadmap for the development of Indonesia-Belarus cooperation for 2026-2030 period.
“Indonesia and Belarus have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through the conclusion of a number of cooperation agreements by the delegation of both countries. [These cover] the fields of health, culture, national accreditation, financial transaction reporting, industry, science and technology, financial services, as well as defense cooperation. Our bilateral relations are progressing very well,” the President stated in a joint press statement with President Lukashenko.
President Prabowo expressed hope that the agreements reached during the meeting would be implemented promptly and provide tangible benefits for both countries. “I hope these agreements will be implemented immediately so that they can bring concrete benefits to both countries in the near future,” he concluded.
The cooperation documents signed include:
- Memorandum of Understanding on Industrial Cooperation between the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Indonesia and the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Health Cooperation between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus;
- Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) of the Republic of Indonesia and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus;
- Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Exchange of Financial Intelligence Related to Money Laundering, Terrorism Financing, and the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction between the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) of the Republic of Indonesia and the Department of Financial Monitoring of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus; and
- Memorandum of Understanding on National Accreditation Cooperation between the National Accreditation Committee of the Republic of Indonesia and the Republican Unitary Enterprise Belarusian State Center for Accreditation.
The two countries also agreed to launch the Roadmap for the Development of Key Areas of Cooperation between the Republic of Indonesia and the Republic of Belarus for the Years 2026-2030.
The agreements demonstrated the strong commitment of both countries to elevate bilateral relations to a closer, more productive, and mutually beneficial level. Through their implementation, both countries aim to promote economic growth, foster innovation, enhance human resource capacity, and further advance their strategic partnership oriented toward mutual prosperity.
