Indonesia, Britain Agree to Boost Cooperation in New Renewable Energy

On the sidelines of the 48th G7 Summit, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (06/27) held a bilateral talk with the United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson at Elmau, Germany.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L.P. Marsudi stated that the two leaders highly appreciated the strong bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Britain.

Quoting a statement from the UK PM, Retno said that the roadmap for bilateral cooperation is already in place.

“It will be easier to strengthen relations between the two countries with the roadmap in place,” Retno said.

In addition, the two leaders also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of new renewable energy and food security.

Also accompanying President Jokowi during the talk were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L.P. Marsudi and Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno. (BPMI Presidential Secretariat/UN) (GWH/HD)
