Indonesia, Mozambique Agree to Optimize PTA

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and President of the Republic of Mozambique Filipe Nyusi have agreed to optimize Indonesia-Mozambique Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA).

The statement was stated by President Jokowi after having a bilateral meeting with his Mozambique counterpart at Presidential Office of the Republic of Mozambique in Maputo, the Republic of Mozambique, Wednesday (08/23).

“We agree to optimize PTA for business actors through cooperation between Chambers of Commerce [of the two countries],” President Jokowi said.

“Since Indonesia-Mozambique PTA was implemented in 2022, trade volume between the two countries has been growing significantly to 78 percent as of June this year,” President Jokowi said.

Moving ahead, to enhance trade cooperation between both countries, President Jokowi also said he encouraged measures to provide opportunities to export train products from Indonesia to Mozambique. (Bureau of Press, Media, and Information of Presidential Secretariat/AIT)(AW/EP)
