Indonesia Must be Ready to Adopt Electric Car
Indonesia must be updated to the current global changes, including those relating with climate and enviromental changes, President Joko Jokowi Widodo said.
Therefore, it is inevitable for us to take into account the development of electric car because everything will eventually lead to it, the President added.
For that reason, the country should be ready, the regulation and research (for electric car) should also be prepared, President Jokowi told the reporters when attending the 10th Lebaran Betawi festival, at the Betawi cultural neighborhood Setu Babakan, South Jakarta, on Monday (30/7).
According to the President, research on electic car is under the authority of Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT). President Jokowi reminded that Indonesia should not be left behind when other countries start implementing electric car.
I think that is all we need to do, President Jokowi added.
On that occasion, the President also said that the Government is now preparing the incentives that will be given to the inventors, both for the research, and industry. (FID/RAH/ES) (RA/MMB/YM/Naster)
