Indonesia Must Showcase Industry 4.0 Transformation in Hannover Messe 2020: President Jokowi

The Government must make thorough preparation for Indonesia’s participation in the 2020 Hannover Messe to display Indonesia’s feature in the transformation to industry 4.0, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.

“We are running out of time. There is only two months left until April. Thus, we have to make through preparation and showcase Indonesia’s feature as an emerging country which is transforming into industry 4.0 that is based on research and technology,” President Jokowi said in a Limited Meeting on the Preparation of Indonesia’s Participation in Hannover Messe and World Expo Dubai at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Monday (17/2).

The Head of State also said he wanted Indonesia to be featured as an attractive country for cooperation on industrial development, green energy, and biodiesel in the world’s leading trade fair, which is set to be held in Hannover, Germany, on 20-24 April 2020.

“Indonesia is home to the world’s biggest nickel reserves used in lithium batteries that will benefit the future generations,” he added.

According to President Jokowi, Indonesia as the first country in ASEAN to become an Official Partner Country for Hannover Messe must capitalize on this event to boost national economy and promote trade, tourism, and investment sectors.

“I’ve been informed that 91 countries more than 200 thousands visitors, 68 percent of whom is CEOs of big companies, will attend the upcoming Hannover Messe and approximately 6.5 million business deals are expected to be signed during the event,” he said. (TGH/EN)
