Indonesia, Pakistan Agree on Seven Collaborations in Various Fields

Indonesia and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen their partnership through the exchange of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and cooperation agreements across several sectors. The exchange took place at the official residence of Pakistan’s Prime Minister in Islamabad on Tuesday (12/9) and was witnessed directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
“Today we held a very productive meeting. We have reached many agreements in various fields and discussed issues of shared interests,” the President said.
The MoUs and cooperation agreements exchanged include:
- Cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia and Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the mutual recognition of higher-education certificates and degrees;
- Cooperation agreement between the Governments of Indonesia and Islamic Republic of Pakistan to support the implementation of the Indonesian Aid Scholarships;
- MoU between Indonesia MSME’s Marketing Board and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to strengthen strategic cooperation in supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs);
- MoU between the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia and the Cabinet Division of Pakistan (represented by National Archives of Islamic Republic of Pakistan) on archival cooperation;
- MoU between Indonesian National Narcotics Agency and the Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control of Islamic Republic of Pakistan on Cooperation to prevent and combat illicit trafficking of narcotics, psychotropic substances, new addictive substances, and their precursors;
- MoU between Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Agency and the Halal Authority of Islamic Republic of Pakistan on halal trade and certification; and
- MoU on cooperation in the health sector.
These MoUs and agreements form an important foundation for strengthened relations between Indonesia and Pakistan. Their implementation is expected to promote economic growth, enhance human resource capacity, and reinforce both nations’ contributions to regional stability.
