President Prabowo Subianto has recommended a two-state solution to resolve the Palestinian conflict.

“I still recommend the two-state solution. Actually, they also agree,” said President Subianto after meeting with Secretary of Defense of the United States Lloyd Austin on Wednesday (11/13) in Washington DC, United States.

The President expressed hope for a ceasefire soon to create more stable peace in the region. “We are working on it. We hope to reach a ceasefire soon,” he added.

Regarding the South China Sea issue, President Subianto emphasized Indonesia’s stance on maintaining national sovereignty while prioritizing cooperation with all parties. “We respect all powers, but we will also continue to defend our sovereignty,” he emphasized, adding that collaboration and cooperation should be prioritized over confrontation or conflict.

According to him, this can be achieved by building trust and mutual respect among the involved countries.

“I believe that collaboration and cooperation is always better than confrontation or conflict. Of course, this requires effort; it won’t happen on its own. There must be an effort to build mutual trust and respect,” he remarked. (BPMI/DNS) (EST/LW)
