Indonesia to Host MotoGP in 2021

The Indonesian Government is developing Mandalika area, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to be ready for hosting the upcoming 2021 MotoGP, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung has said.

“The President prioritizes Mandalika as a sport tourism destination by hosting MotoGP and water sports,” Pramono Anung told the journalists at his office in Jakarta, Monday (25/2).

He added that the MotoGP will provide new tourist destination for Mandalika and Indonesia as well as will bring positive impact for sport and tourism in Indonesia. He also said that Lombok is ready to host the MotoGP because it has been a tourist destination for more than 15 years.

On that occasion, the Cabinet Secretary said that Indonesia has successfully held the 2018 Asian Games, the 2018 Asian Paragames and IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting last year.

“Hosting MotoGP and seeking to host the Olympics are part of the GovernmentÂ’s vision to be a great nation, to become a winning nation in the future,” the Cabinet Secretary concluded.
