President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has stated that Indonesia is “very outraged” about deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza.

“Indonesia is very outraged about deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza. We are closely monitoring the recent situation in Gaza and Indonesia’s position is very clear and firm: we strongly condemn attacks on civilians and public facilities in Gaza,” the President said after chairing a limited cabinet meeting on Palestine at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday (10/30).

The President also said that Indonesia also continues to communicate with many parties to take measures in addressing the situation.

“The violence must stop, a ceasefire must continue to be sought, humanitarian assistance must continue to be prioritized and to be accelerated,” the President said.

The President further said that Indonesia will send humanitarian assistance, in line with the requests and needs of the Palestinian people, and the first batch will be sent this week. The humanitarian assistance comes from the Government, business entities, and communities. (KS/UN) (RI/MMB)
