Indonesian Athletes Share Hopes, Preparation for 2025 SEA Games

A warm and full of hope atmosphere was felt among Indonesian contingent for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand during a send-off ceremony led by President Prabowo Subianto at the State palace, Jakarta, on Friday (12/5). On the event, several athletes shared their preparation stories and hopes before departing.

Archery athlete Diananda revealed that preparations had been underway since January through training camps and various competitions. “We started our preparations in January, so we have been in training camp since then and have participated in several single-event archery competitions,” said Diananda.

She also explained that the archery team would compete in ten events, while she would take part in three. “In archery, we will compete in 10 events, but for me personally, I will take part in 3 events,” she stated.

Diananda expressed her gratitude for being sent-off personally by President Prabowo and hoped that this momentum would boost the spirit of all Indonesian athletes. “Yes, I am very happy because we are personally sent-off by the President. Our hope is that we can give our best at SEA Games,” she said.

Diananda has set a personal ambition to win three gold medals. She also expressed hope that the people of Indonesia continue to offer moral support for all athletes. “To all Indonesian people, please pray for and support us, the Indonesian team, who will compete at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand. Hopefully we can deliver the best results and finish 1st at the 2025 SEA Games,” she hoped.

Meanwhile, weightlifting athlete Rizki Juniansyah also shared stories about his preparation routine. “Right now, I’m preparing for the 33rd SEA Games 2025, and alhamdulillah up to this moment I am still in a good condition, and I remain enthusiastic about training and preparing for the SEA Games. Insha Allah, I will be able to perform at my best there,” said Rizki.

Rizki went on to explain that he would compete in the men’s 79-kilogram class. He hoped to repeat the achievements he had earned in previous international competitions. “Insha Allah, I’m hoping for the best, that I can repeat my achievements at the Olympics and at the previous SEA Games,” he said.

For Rizki, being invited to the State Palace was a special honor and an extra source of motivation ahead of the competition. He expressed his gratitude to President Prabowo and asked for public support so he could once again bring home medals.

“I thank President Prabowo Subianto. I am very grateful. He has shown tremendous appreciation for athletes, supporting them wholeheartedly, including their life path and future,” said Rizki.
