Indonesian Community, Students Enthusiastically Welcome President Prabowo Subianto in Ankara

A warm and enthusiastic atmosphere was felt during the welcoming of President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto at a hotel in Ankara on Wednesday evening (4/9).
Upon arrival at the hotel where he will be staying during his state visit in Türkiye, President Prabowo was welcomed by a number of prominent figures and representatives of the Indonesian community residing in Türkiye.
Also welcoming President Prabowo in the hotel lobby were several Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet who had arrived beforehand in Ankara, Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie, officials, local staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara, representatives of the Indonesian businessman, students, and the Indonesian community residing in Türkiye.
One of the Indonesian students, Maulidia, who is studying landscape architecture at the University of Bartin, expressed her pride in having met the President in person. She even traveled for four hours to meet the President.
“I think this is a priceless opportunity for me to meet the President in person,” she said, while expressing hopes for stronger cooperation between Indonesia and Türkiye, especially in the economic and education sectors.
“In Türkiye, we have many options for university so the tuition is cheaper. Maybe Indonesia could adopt this in the education sector,” she added.
The same hope was also expressed by Cika who resides in Bursa, as well as Zalta who resides in Ankara. They said they were moved to meet President Prabowo in person and although the meeting was brief due to the dense crowd, they acknowledged they were still happy to interact directly with the Head of State.
“I am very moved because this is very exclusive. It is a rare opportunity to be visited by the President,” Cika said.
Muhammad Syarif, a student and representative of the Indonesian Student Association in Türkiye also expressed his happiness. According to him, President Prabowo Subianto’s state visit to Türkiye is crucial in strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
“I hope the relationship between Indonesia and Türkiye is improving, especially with the bilateral meeting of these two nations’ Presidents. I also hope the relationship will continue to improve in the future,” said Syarif.
“The President’s presence amidst the Indonesian community in Ankara became a memorable moment for many Indonesian students and Indonesians residing in Türkiye. Besides strengthening the spirit of nationalism, the meeting also became a symbol of the Government’s strong attention to its citizens abroad.
