Indonesian Students Enthusiastically Welcome Thai Prime Minister Anutin at Presidential Palace

Indonesian Students Monday (08/03) enthusiastically welcomed Prime Minister of Thailand Anutin Charnvirakul at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.

They lined the route, waving Indonesian and Thai flags as the vehicle carrying PM Anutin passed by. They also greeted the Prime Minister in Thai language.

“ยินดีต้อนรับสู่อินโดนีเซีย (yindi tonrap su Indonesia/welcome to Indonesa),” the students said enthusiastically.

A memorable moment occurred when a student had the chance to interact with PM Anutin.

Zean, a pupil at Guntur 03 Public Elementary School (Morning Session), was delighted and surprised by the experience.

According to Zean, it was an unforgettable and joyful moment. “I was really nervous at first, but when he hugged me, all my nerves disappeared. I felt so happy,” he said.

For the teachers, having their students take part in a state activity not only provided a new experience, but also a meaningful learning opportunity.

Rina Permatasari, a teacher at Guntur 03 Public Elementary School (Morning Session), felt that the activity could serve as an inspiration and motivation for the students to pursue and achieve their goals.

“By seeing the world outsode their classrom firsthand, they are more likely to be inspired. Watching the Presidential Security Detail, the Ministers and other officials can give motivate them to stay committed to their studies,” Rina explained.

Echoing a similar sentiment, Nur Anggraini, a teacher at Kebon Manggis 08 Public Elementary School (Morning Session), said that the students’ participation in welcoming a state leader is an opportunity to instill a sense of nationalism from an early age.

“So they can express love for Indonesia and show support for cooperation between the two countries,” she asserted.

In a joint press statement, PM Anutin expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received during his first visit to Jakarta.
