Indonesian Womens Volleyball Team Beaten by S. Korean Team
Indonesia womens volleyball team failed to proceed to the Semi Final after being defeated by South Korean team at the Quarter Final held at Indoor Tennis Stadium, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/8).
At the beginning of the first set, Indonesia was able to level the match narrowly, even winning 17-16. Unfortunately, the hosts team must close the game with points of 22-24, lost to the South Korean team.
In the tight second set, Indonesias defense was good enough to drain the opponents energy; yet the South Korean team could outperform the Indonesian team and won the second set with 13-25, and the third set with 18-25.
Speaking after the match, captain of the Indonesian team Amalia Fajrina Nabila admitted that her team lacks skill and experience compared to the South Korean team, which was the Womens Volleyball Champion at the previous Asian Games. Despite the result, the Asian Games had given them a valuable experience, she said.
Amalia also expressed hope that Indonesia could have a better management for the athletes to compete at international competitions.
Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs AM. Fahir were seen among the spectators. (FID//ES) (STU/EP/Naster)
