Indonesia confirmed 13 more cases of people infected with the corona virus, making the total number of the cases in the country to 19, Ministry of Health announced.

Of 19 cases, two are foreigners, while seven of the cases were imported, Secretary to the Directorate General of Disease Control and Prevention of Ministry of Health Achmad Yurianto said in a press conference held in Jakarta, Monday (9/3).

Case 7 is a 59-year-old female with stable condition and she had been infected overseas.

“She just returned from her trip abroad and few days later showed covid-19 symptoms. Based on lab test result, she is positive for the virus,” Achmad said.

Case 8 is a 56-year-old male, the husband of case 7.

“His condition is a bit serious as he has pre-existing medical condition—diarrhea and diabetic—before being infected with corona. He is now in moderate to severe condition and being installed with IV fluids and oxygen” Achmad added.

Case 9, he continued, is female, aged 55 years and her symptoms are mild to moderate without any pre-existing medical condition. The case 9 is also an imported case, not part of any cluster because she just went home from abroad.

“Then the next is case 10. Male, 29 years old, a foreigner, currently has mild to moderate illness. He had a contact with case 1,” he said.

Case 11 is a 54-year-old female foreigner and currently has mild to moderate illness and had a contact with case 1, Achmad added.

“Next, case 12 is a 31-year-old male with mild to moderate illness. He is the result of the tracing of Case 1. Furthermore, case 13 is a 16-year-old female and coming from tracing result of patient sub-cluster 3,” Achmad explained.

In the meantime, case 14 is a 50-year-old male with mild to moderate illness and he was infected abroad.

“The case 15 is a 43-year-old female and also an imported case. Case 16 is a 17-year-old female and had a close contact with case 15,” Achmad said.

Case 17, case 18, and case 19, are 56-year-old, 55-year-old, and 40-year-old male, respectively, and are all imported case, Achmad said. (TGH / EN)
