Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung congratulates Indonesia National’s new Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian after a Job Handover Ceremony on Thursday (14/7), at the Police Higher Education College (PTIK), Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta

Indonesia National Police (Polri) Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian officially holds the highest position of the Polri after a handover process from Polri’s former Chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti to Comr. Gen. Tito Karnavian is held on Thursday (14/7), at the Stadium of Police Higher Education College (PTIK), Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta.

This whole process was done successfully due to the support from all parties, particularly Allah the Almighty, Tito said in his remarks.

Tito also expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, high officials of  Polri, chairmen of House of Representatives (DPR), and all Indonesians for trusting him to carry on the mandate as a Chief of Polri.

“This is such a great mandate with responsibility not only to the Law, but also to the President, people, nation, state, and Allah the Almighty,” Tito stated.

Tito also thanked Polri’s former Chief Gen. Badrodin Haiti for his work and dedication during his administration for a period of 1 year and 3 months.

“Polri’s previous featured program has made the institution proof its existence and solidity at facing challenges,” Tito added.

Tito asked for the support from all parties and Allah the Almighty in carrying out duties as the Chief of Polri well. Commitment and good intention will be his main principle to materialize the vision and mission of Polri at providing the best service for nation, people and state that is in line with government policy program set out in the Polri strategic working plan.

President Jokowi  on Wednesday (13/7), at the State Palace, Jakarta swore in Com. Gen. Tito Karnavian as the Chief of Polri replacing Com. Gen. Badrodin Haiti who will enter his retirement period. On that occasion, the President also launched a Presidential Decree to promote Tito from a three-star commissioner general to a four-star general.

Meanwhile, Com. Gen. Badrodin Haiti said that the performance of Polri on the acceleration of national development has always been spotlight in the public eye. The improvement of Polri’s performance will keep continue to be made in spite of the lacking resources.

According to Badrodin, the right actions and solutions will become concrete measures to provide the best public service.

“I hope Polri under the administration of Tito Karnavian can handle future challenges and be a professional and excellent institution that can be trusted by the people. Good luck with your work,” Badrodin said.

At the inauguration ceremony, several agenda were held, including reading of letter of appointment, handing over the baton of command, signing the Record of Job Handover and Integrity Pact that were witnessed by Com. Gen. Badrodin Haiti.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Industry Saleh Husin, Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi, Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/ National Land Agency Ferry M. Baldan, Indonesian National Defense Forces (TNI) Commander Gen.
