Although the main series of Hannover Messe 2021: Digital Edition concluded on Friday (16/4), the exhibition will still take place virtually for a year ahead to facilitate business networking and provide greater opportunities for all parties involved, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita has said.

“Hannover Messe 2021 is a golden opportunity for Indonesia as the official partner country of the exhibition, including the country’s industrial players that participate in the event,” the Minister said, as quoted by kemenperin.go.id page, Tuesday (27/4).

According to him, the Hannover Messe 2021 event is essential to showcase the strength of the national industry in implementing the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) transformation. Moreover, the exhibition is expected to encourage the connectivity of Indonesia with global supply chain networks.

Agus went on to say that the exhibition was an opportunity to campaign the Making Indonesia 4.0 road map and the vision of national industrial development

“We’re aware that to be selected as the official partner country, a country must be considered quite advanced in their industrial sector. With the status of the G20 member countries and an industry 4.0 roadmap, Indonesia is classified to be equal to other large industrialized countries,” Agus said.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Industry’s Director-General of Resiliency, Zoning, and International Industrial Access (KPAII) Eko S.A. Cahyanto said that based on data from Deutsche Messe AG as the organizer, Hannover Messe 2021: Digital Edition has succeeded in capturing 90,000 participants and 1,800 exhibitors.

“The exhibition has hold 1,300 events with 1,500 speakers, presenting more than 10,500 products and innovations, as well as attracting 140,000 live stream views,” he said.

On that occasion, Eko expressed belief that the success of Hannover Messe 2021 will increase cooperation, business agreements, investment, exports, and technology transfer. This opportunity can speed up national economic recovery due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, he added.

“To that end, collaboration with various stakeholders is pivotal because this is an important momentum to push national branding and boost the prowess of our manufacturing sector,” he stated.

For the record, the exhibition adopted Hannover Messe’s theme “Industrial Transformation” with Indonesia’s sub-theme “Making Indonesia 4.0”. The tagline raised at this year’s exhibition was “Connect to Accelerate”. (PR of Ministry of Industry/AIT/TAR) (RIF/MUR)
