Bismillahirrahmanirrahim.
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
In this afternoon’s limited meeting, we will discuss the preparations for working visit to the ASEAN Summit and G20 Summit.
In these two crucial events, we should gain the momentum to seize the opportunities, especially in an effort to strengthen the countrys economy and national interests.
In the 34th ASEAN Summit in Thailand, I recognize several issues to be raised. First, I think we should call on ASEAN countries to unite in facing the US-China trade war so that the economy of ASEAN remains stable. It is important to call on ASEAN countries to unite. Second, regarding to combating marine debris in the ASEAN region. This also becomes a crucial issue to be raised. Third, in terms of accelerating the truce process in Rakhine State, in Myanmar. Those three issues are important to be raised at the ASEAN Summit.
In the meeting at the G20 Summit in Japan, we are going to raise, first, global economic and financial issues, specifically on trade and investment. Second, the issue of innovation steps in developing digital economy and artificial intelligence. Third, it may be important to address the gap in the quality of labor infrastructure and the global empowerment of women.
I would now like to conclude my remarks.(Public Relation Division of Cabinet Secretariat)(SA/AW/YM/Naster)
