Introductory Remarks of President Joko Widodo at the Limited Meeting on the Preparation Progress of the IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting, at Presidential Office, Jakarta, on 2 October 2018

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Good Afternoon,

May prosperity be upon us all.

Honourable Vice President,

Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,

This is our fourth limited meeting to discuss the preparation of the 2018 IMF-World Bank Annual Meeting which will be held next week. Therefore, I want to ensure the progress of its preparation. I want us to join hands together to utilize this Meeting to place Indonesia in the world’s spotlight, whether in showing our economic sector, our featured products in global market, or promoting our investment opportunities to the international community and also our attractive tourist destinations. We also want to reap the benefit of the attendance of approximately 18,000 participants, so it will create considerable impacts on the economy of not only Bali, but also other regions in our country. Lastly, I want meticulous preparation to be done on the ground, so the annual event can be well-organized and make significant impacts on our country.
