Introductory Remarks of President of the Republic of Indonesia at the Limited Meeting on Preparations for Public Celebrations of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025, at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, December 16, 2024

Good afternoon,

Greetings of virtue.

Distinguished Vice President, Coordinating Ministers and Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, Commander of the Indonesian National Defense Forces, Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Head of the State Intelligence Agency.

This afternoon I deliberately summoned the ministers and related officials to check and ensure our readiness to prepare for public celebrations of Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025, so that all levels of society can live these days happily, joyfully, and most importantly with a sense of security and comfort.

Preparations for public celebrations of Christmas and New Year have indeed been discussed in several meetings and I am sure that you have also built coordination and made preparations as well as possible. However, I would also like to receive the latest reports from the security forces, as well as from the transportation sector, then reports on fuel supplies, on the availability of food and other basic necessities, as well as reports from the labor sector and the tourism sector.

Therefore, I invite Chief of the Indonesian National Police to report.
