First of all, allow me to say welcome to Indonesia. It is an honour for Indonesia to receive Your Excellency. And, I was informed that this is Your Excellency’s first overseas state visit. And, I pay a great attention to the friendship between Indonesia and Timor-Leste. A future-oriented friendship for the welfare of the two peoples.

And, under Your Excellency’s leadership, I believe our relation will be even stronger.  And, I congratulate the Government and people of Timor-Leste for the successful National Parliamentary Election held in last May. And, Indonesia is committed to continuously improving cooperation with Timor-Leste in various fields and remains as a trusted partner for the country’s development.  A peaceful, stable, and developed Timor-Leste is our common intention.

I also want to convey my gratitude to Timor-Leste for the support for the nomination of Indonesia as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council 2019-2020. Thanks to the support, alhamdulillah Indonesia has been elected on 8 June 2018 at the Headquarters of the UN in New York.

Your Excellency, before carrying on the discussion, I invite President Lú-Olo to deliver his remarks.

I invite you to take the floor. (PR, Cabinet Secretariat)(RAS/AW/YM)
