Assalamu’alaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakaatuh,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The member states of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have agreed to hold an extraordinary summit in order to discuss state borders in the area of Al Aqsa Mosque.

This extraordinary summit was initially to be held in Morocco, but Morocco was not ready, and Indonesia has been asked to host it, replacing Morocco. I ask (the Foreign Minister) to express Indonesia’s readiness to host the OIC Extraordinary Summit. I ask that this Summit should be well prepared. Previously, we have successfully held the Asian-African Conference with the cooperation between all ministries, the Regional Governments, and the community. I also hope that the OIC Extraordinary Summit will be held successfully and we become a good host. All the preparations, from beginning to end, relating to security and other supporting facilities, should be prepared immediately. Bear in mind that this OIC Summit is part of our efforts to show the world that Indonesia is a safe and friendly country, and so it is worth a visit. For the muslims, our muslims are tolerant, rahmatan lil alamin (blessing for the whole world and its content), so we need to show that.

That is my introductory remarks. (Humas) (AW/YM/Naster)
