Investing in IKN Secures Future Prospects, President Jokowi Says

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Wednesday (06/05) led the groundbreaking ceremony for the development of state-owned bank BTN office in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area, North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province.

President Jokowi said that banks play a strategic role in supporting economic transformation and development. Thus, BTN is building its office in the IKN area.

On that occasion, the President said that investing in the IKN is like “buying” the future.

“That’s why BTN builds its head office or branch office in the IKN area, considering that financing for property investment in the IKN is needed,” he added.

President Jokowi also ensured that the air quality index in the IKN would be better.

“[Compared to other cities], the air quality index in the IKN would be at 20. Vehicles using combustion engines are not allowed, only electric vehicles are allowed. The index could be at 0. And only the usage of green energy is allowed. This is the concept of the future IKN,” he remarked. (KS/DNS) (AP/MUR)
