First and foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to President Putin for welcoming me during my visit to Moscow.

There are some matters that I talked about during our meeting.

First, the issue of peace and humanity has always been a priority for Indonesia’s foreign policy. The Indonesian constitution mandates that Indonesia will always seek to contribute to the world peace. In this context, I made visits to Kyiv and to Moscow.

Second, as I previously said in Kyiv, despite the very challenging situation, it is important to move towards a peace settlement and an open dialogue. I have conveyed President Zelenskyy’s message to President Putin and I reaffirm my commitment to becoming a mediator between the two leaders.

Third, we discussed the importance of food and fertilizers for humanity and for the global community. Hundreds of millions of people have been affected by the disruption of food supply logistics, particularly those in developing countries. I extend my deep appreciation to President Putin for his security assurance for food and fertilizers supplies not only from Russia but also from Ukraine. That is good news.

Fourth, for the sake of humanity, I support the UN efforts to reintegrate Russian food products and fertilizers, as well as Ukrainian food products, into the global supply chains. In particular, for the export route of Ukrainian food products, particularly through sea routes, President Putin has reaffirmed his assurance.

Fifth, we discussed cooperation between Russia and Indonesia not only in investment and trade but also in tourism. We will follow up on the cooperation and will establish a task force to discuss this issue thoroughly.

All in all, let me say that Indonesia has no other interest than a spirit to see the war to end immediately and food, fertilizers and energy supply chains to be restored immediately because these concern the lives of hundreds of millions and even billions of people.

I invite all world leaders to work together to revive the spirit of multilateralism, the spirit of peace and the spirit of cooperation. Only with that spirit can peace be achieved.

I thank you, President Putin.
