JORR2 Toll Road to Operate This Year

JORR-2The Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) of Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing seeks to complete the construction of Jakarta Outer Ring Road 2 (JORR 2) Toll Road at the end of this year.

Head of the BPJT Danang Parikesit explained that JORR 2 Toll Road – spanning 111 kilometers from Soekarno Hatta Airport to Cilincing – consists of six segments, namely Cengkareng-Batu Ceper-Kunciran (14.2 km), Kunciran-Serpong (11.1 km), Serpong-Cinere (10.1 km), Cinere-Jagorawi (14.7 km), Cimanggis-Cibitung (26.5 km), and Cibitung-Cilincing (34 km).

Two of the segments (Kunciran-Serpong and Serpong–Cinere) are set to be ready in June.

“The operation of the JORR 2 Toll Road will improve mobility of commuters who live in the neighboring cities of Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Serpong and Bekasi,” Danang said in Jakarta, Monday (4/3).

He added that smooth traffic flow would also support logistics distribution and the development of Cargo Village at Soekarno-Hatta Airport area.

Danang went on to say that Cengkareng-Batu Ceper-Kunciran segment is expected to be ready in November 2019. The toll road segment is managed by PT Jasamarga Kunciran Cengkareng and is divided into four sections: Section I Kunciran-Tirtayasa (2 km with 48.8% construction progress), Section II Tirtayasa-Benteng Betawi (3.5 km with 31.9% construction progress), Section III Benteng Betawi-H Sastranegara (6.6 km with 47.7% construction progress) and Section IV H. Sastranegara-SS Benda (2 km with 75.6% construction progress).

The next segment, Kunciran-Serpong, is set to be completed in June 2019 and is operated by PT Marga Trans Nusantara. The segment has two sections: Section I Kunciran-Parigi (6.7 km with 86.7% construction progress) and Section II Parigi-Serpong (4.4 km with 88% construction progress).

Serpong-Cinere Toll Road segment consists of 2 sections: Section I Serpong-Pamulang (6.5 km with 66% construction progress) is set to be completed in March 2019 and Section II Pamulang-Cinere (3.6 km with 32.9% construction progress) is set to be completed in June 2019. The toll road segment is operated by PT Cinere Serpong Jaya.

Cinere-Jagorawi segment consists of 3 sections: Section I Jagorawi-Jl. Raya Bogor (3.7 km) has been operating since 2012, Section II Jl. Raya Bogor-Kukusan (5.5 km with 97.3% construction progress) is set to be ready in March 2019 and Section III Cinuk-Kukusan (5.5 km) is still in the stage of land acquisition. This toll road segment is operated by PT Translingkar Kita Jaya.

Cimanggis-Cibitung Toll Road segment has a length of 26.5 km and consists of 2 sections: Section IA Junction Cimanggis-On/Off Ramp Jatikaya (3.2 km with 82.3% construction progress) is set to be completed in April 2019 while Section II On/Off Ramp Jatikarya-Junction Cibitung (23.3 km with 33.4% construction progress) is set to be completed in December 2019. This toll road segment is operated by PT Cimanggis Cibitung Tollways.

The longest JORR 2 segment is Cibitung-Cilincing segment with a length of 34 km and consists of four sections: Section I SS Cibitung-Gabus Indah (13.1 km and 61.7% of construction progress) and Section II Gabus Indah-Muara Bakti (6 km and 60.3% construction progress). The two sections are set to be ready in June this year.

Section III of the Cibitung-Cilincing segment is Muara Bakti-Kanal Banjir Timur (10.6 km and 37.5% construction progress) and is set to be completed in November 2019) while Section IV is East Flood Canal-Cilincing (4.6 km and is still in the stage of completed land acquisition).
