Kadin Commends President Prabowo’s Visionary Leadership, Strong Focus on Execution

The business community has expressed its appreciation for the transformation agenda pursued by President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. James Riady, Coordinating Vice Chair for Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), described the President’s leadership as visionary and strategic, underpinned by the courage to pursue bold breakthroughs and the ability to execute policies swiftly.

Speaking during a meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and leaders of Kadin’s national and regional chapters at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday (07/31), James said the Government’s policy direction is designed not only to address today’s global challenges but also to position Indonesia for long-term success.

“What you have outlined today, as well as on several previous occasions, leaves us with the impression of a leadership that is truly visionary, highly strategic, and very clear in its direction, both from a defensive and an offensive standpoint,” James said.

According to James, the Government’s willingness to pursue multiple breakthrough initiatives simultaneously is one of the defining characteristics of President Prabowo’s leadership. He also highlighted the administration’s strong emphasis on implementation and its ability to deliver tangible results at speed.

“Not many people have that kind of guts, to undertake so many transformative initiatives and breakthroughs all at once,” he remarked.

“Third, there is a very strong focus on execution. If we look at the quality of execution management and the speed of implementation, from food self-sufficiency and energy security to maintaining subsidized electricity tariffs and the price of 3-kilogram LPG cylinders despite the current global situation. These achievements are truly remarkable,” he continued.

Among the Government’s key initiatives highlighted by James were the achievement of food self-sufficiency, efforts to strengthen energy security, industrial downstreaming, the development of affordable housing, reforms in medical education, and the establishment of Danantara. He said these initiatives demonstrate an approach to governance that is both visionary and pragmatic.

James also noted that President Prabowo’s economic diplomacy has strengthened the confidence of global technology companies in Indonesia. As an example, he pointed to Indonesia’s expanding access to strategic technologies and the increasingly positive outlook among international industry players regarding the country’s economic prospects.

On the management of the nation’s economic resources, James praised the establishment of Danantara as an instrument to strengthen synergy among the Government, state-owned enterprises, and the private sector under the spirit of “Indonesia Incorporated”.

“The establishment of Danantara as an instrument for Indonesia Incorporated is exactly what is needed. The Government must take the lead in a strong way, and I think Danantara is the way,” he stated.

James even described President Prabowo’s approach to governance as an entrepreneur presidency, a leadership style characterized by a strong vision, pragmatic decision-making, and decisiveness in taking action.

On the same occasion, James also encouraged the Government and the business community to formulate a national strategy to respond to the rapid development of artificial intelligence and robotics. He expressed hope that Indonesia would become not merely a market for advanced technologies, but also a nation capable of developing its own technologies, cultivating world-class talent, and fostering new industries on the path towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
