President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo Monday (10/02) underscored that the operation of Jakarta-Bandung ‘Whoosh’ High-Speed Train (KCJB) is one of the Government’s commitments to providing services to the people.

“Most importantly, the people are served well; the people are served quickly because that is the function of mass transportation. It’s not about profit and loss,” President Jokowi said at Padalarang Station, West Bandung regency.

After taking the KCJB three times, the Head of State observed that the trip always feels comfortable and fast. “I’ve taken it three times. It feels the same, fast and comfortable. It took 29 minutes from Halim station to Padalarang Station and vice versa,” he said.

Afterwards, President Jokowi reiterated that the Government continues to strive to create an integrated mass transportation system, including the high-speed trains that are integrated with other modes of transportation.

“We continue to work on integrating the high-speed train with LRT, MRT, TransJakarta, airport transportation modes, KRL, with everything. And yesterday, we saw at the exhibition, perhaps with an app, with everything,” he said.

Furthermore, President said that the availability of the high-speed train can be one of options to ease people’s mobility. President said, people can still try the KCJB for free until mid-October 2023.

“I said earlier that it is still free until the middle of the month (October). After that, it will be decided how much [the ticket] will be,” the President said. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/AIT) (RKW/FI)
