President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo has stated he had received the List of Issues (DIM) of Law Number 30 of 2002 on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The President also pledged he would review the list before making any decisions.

“I will inform you later once we have sent a Presidential Letter (to the House of Representatives/DPR),” President Jokowi told the press in Jakarta, Wednesday (9/11).

The President maintained the proposed amendment must not weaken the anti-graft body.

“I will thoroughly review the proposal,” he said, adding that since Monday (9/9) he had asked inputs of experts and ministries so that he had an overview before studying the DIM.

Asked by the the press whether the DPR can finalize the amendment before its term ends on 30 September, President Jokowi declined to comment.

“That matter is within the DPR’s domain,” he added. (RAH/ES)
