Leaders Join Sunset Cruise on Sidelines of ASEAN Summit

ASEAN leaders on Wednesday (05/10) joined a sunset cruise after attending several formal meetings of the 42nd ASEAN Summit at Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara province.

Prior to the cruise, the leaders had a gathering in naratetama waiting room in the lobby of the Meruorah Hotel and had an informal conversation. Some of the leaders wore casual attire, including traditional batik shirts.

On that occasion, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana talked with Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen, while Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had a conversation with wife of the President of the Philippines Louise Araneta-Marcos.

In the meantime, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Taur Matan Ruak, who was sitting next to his son, had a conversation with Prime Minister of Lao Sonexay Siphandone and his wife Vandara Siphandone. Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong and his wife Ho Ching greeted the leaders and their spouses, while Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah from Brunei Darussalam and his son Prince Abdul Mateen also greeted the leaders one by one.

After the informal conversation, the leaders and their spouses headed to Marina Labuan Bajo and boarded the Lako Di’a traditional Pinisi boat to enjoy the beautiful sunset of Labuan Bajo. (BPMI of Presidential Secretariat/UN) (RI/MMB)
