LPS Office Groundbreaking at Nusantara to Boost Public, Investors’ Trust
The groundbreaking of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) office in the Nusantara Capital will increase the trust of the public as well as the business sector and investors, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has said.
“If the LPS has started (to build their office), others will definitely believe that this new capital will soon be ready, and increase the sense of security of the public, business sector and investors,” said the President during the groundbreaking of the Arthadhyaksa Building, LPS office, at Nusantara capital, North Penajam Paser regency, East Kalimantan province, Wednesday (01/17).
The President said that the construction of the LPS office compound will be carried out in stages, starting from the main building to the supporting facilities.
“In the first stage, the main building will be built, while the construction works of two other buildings as well as supporting facilities will be carried out at the second and third stages,” he explained.
Previously, at the end of 2023, President Jokowi also carried out the groundbreaking for Bank Indonesia’s office compound. He explained that the Financial Services Authority (OJK) will also soon start the construction of its office at Nusantara.
“This groundbreaking proves the seriousness of our commitment and our readiness to build the Nusantara Capital into a world-class capital,” he said, adding that currently the Government is also building a number of infrastructures to facilitate access and shorten travel time to the capital.
The President mentioned that the existence of toll road infrastructure will shorten travel time from Balikpapan to Nusantara from 1.5-2 hours to around 30 minutes.
“With the toll road which spans around 47 kilometers long, we will only need approximately 30 minutes from Balikpapan to Nusantara. Plus, after the airport [construction] is finished, from the new airport to the main area of the Nusantara will only take 15 minutes,” he remarked. (DND/UN) (EST/MMB)
